Facebook Cyber Bullying

Cyber bullying has always seemed to be one of the easiest forms of bullying. Behind a computer screen Facebook users may feel more objected to saying things to or about someone that they would not normally say to their face or around others. Cyber bullying ranges anywhere from instant messaging, texting, and more and more frequently, Facebook. There are some things that everyone should know to become aware on Facebook. Sharing passwords is never a good idea when you have personal information on the web. Always think before acting. Whatever is posted online is there to stay and may be too late to erase what has already been revealed to unwanted eyes. Accepting friend requests from anyone other than people users know may only open a social networking door to something bad. Anything that may make someone feel uncomfortable or come up as a caution sign, reports that profile or timeline (“What Do I Need to Know to Stay Safe on Facebook?”). Pornography, hate crimes, threats, graphic language, bullying, and spam are absolutely 100% banned from Facebook. Note that if ever any of this type of behavior is posted on the web that individual should be reported and the inappropriate material will be further removed and that person will have personal consequences for their actions. Reports range anywhere from a fake profile or timeline to an advertisement an individual had posted. Anything that is posted on Facebook should be posted with a certain purpose and that purpose should not in anyway be posted to hurt or isolate a particular individual (“How Do I Report Abuse to Facebook?”). Facebook should be a place where people can go and be able to post whatever they want to comfortably and not be bullied  or attacked right on the web page. There are a few things that could be done if bullying is occurring on Facebook. Unfriending someone so that they can not post on your wall or view anything that the user may not want viewed by that person. Blocking a certain person makes it impossible for them to view anything that has to do with the Facebook user in it. They will not be able to go and even search your name; the name does not show up at all like you don’t even have an account with Facebook. Lastly, report the individual to a higher authority and the website will deal with the situation and any further consequences (“What Should I Do If I Am Being Bullied or Attacked by Someone on Facebook?”).
